The fit-out design of a leased space with minimal impact to services and existing building fabric.

Situated in Surry Hills, this small fit-out project for a creative studio in a rented space, was bought to DRWA by the builder, following a failed Client-Architect design process. It was crucial that, a fast, simple, and cheap solution be found that also told a design story and met the client brief.

‘A Sudden Gust of Wind’ by Jeff Wall reflected the sense of energy and ‘everywhere-ness’.

The design solution came through implementation of infill joinery, fitments and lighting that could provide for all studio needs. Taking lead from the business culture, the design idea embodies an energy and rhythm by connecting focused areas of work that support creative processes, in an open space.
